501st TK Project

I am taking part in the 501st's TK Project!

"The TK Project is a charity event for the Make A Wish Foundation. The 501st Stormtooper Legion is inviting our Honorary Members, Friends Of the Legion and a few 501st troopers to create one of a kind Stormtrooper helmets. This project is similar to the Vader Project that Lucasfilm has done."

They send me a life size prop replica stormtrooper helmet and I paint on it! :D

Later it'll be auctioned through make-a-wish..and it *might* be involved with Star Wars Celebration 5! Which would rock my socks.

I just finished work on the Lucasfilm/Topps Inc. Indiana Jones Masterpieces Trading Cards set..I did 106 standard sketch cards, as well as 10 panoramic cards. Here are the 6 cards I will be getting back:

1. What was I doing 10 years ago?

Wow...lets see I was in between Freshman and Sophomore year at college..most likely working somewhere. geez I have a bad memory..?? Ummm, indulged in art possibly? And learning to play the guitar and bass..Oh wait yes, My budding acting career! I was trying to be an extra on anything I could, I had management - some really horrible place in Lincoln park, which was sooo worthless. I got a couple gigs (on my own) as a extra. One thing that had molly ringwald which was neat, "In the weeds" but it wasnt in the cards. They called me to come in for more days but they were like be here at 5 am I was like what ? thats too early, no thanks..haha guess I didnt have the heart for it..oh well, laziness overpowers all. You know I had hung out with that day or 2 I was there, that girl who eventually went on to be in Sex in the city (Bigs last wife - Natasha) it was one of the first things she did i think. See, if I would have stuck with it, I could have been on sex and this city..haha, no. I was in a restaurant scene..sitting at a large table. I should totally go rent it to see if i made it in.


2. 5 things on my to do list today?

*Finish Conan Packaging
*Draw Star Wars Sketch Cards..need to get those done
*Get pics from this weekends Iron Maiden concert up on Kodak Gallery
*Maybe clean the house later?
*Really need to finish those Star Wars Cards


3. Snacks I enjoy?

Fruit, Chips, Tostitos and my layered dip, Chocolate


4. Things I would do if I were a millionaire?

I would draw, publish books, sew like crazy, possibly make films, have funky art shows, buy a really big house, do light traveling, be even more happy cause my husband and I could just hang out all day with our pug and not have to work, playing video games and watching movies, bike rides...picnic...*sigh*


5. Places I lived?

IF - Forgotten

Forgotten...I haven't posted an IF in so long! I have been busy with illustration projects and things..and I really got into sewing - so I was posting stuff on my other blog...So I am in fear of being forgotten..but I hope not.

ALSO - to me one of the forgotten arts that I used to adore was making Dolls. This one in particular "Little Red" was made for the Living Dead Dolls Art Show a couple years ago (ldd show)..and she sits forgotten on my office floor (she deserves so much better), in need of me fixing her up (having been damaged in travel) and then she needs to become a great fixture in my house.

She is a blank doll, that I sewed the clothes for and sculpted the hair, then painted her..Painted a shadow box and glued in the trees and moss, sculpted the basket and glued that in. Placed her in and created my 3d illustration! I had always hoped to do more of these beauties..but it was VERY time consuming, one day, perhaps.

I am on a couple sites (like MondayArtday ATC) where some online friends and I trade cards, they come up with a theme and we draw cards and send 'em in to each other.. its great for drawing some fun characters and the ATC size is totally fun, plus you get someone else's beautiful art! I created this with my sewing machine..it is an ATC sized piece...all lines are sewn...and color is with markers..

An awesome artist on MondayArtdays ATC trading group made a few sewn ATCs and hers are AMAZING! Sewn colors in and everything..well i love the idea of combining illustration which i love with sewing which i love..since i started sewing i had always wanted a way to combine the 2...and when i saw her pieces i was like DUH!!! haha

Here is some info on the event..

"Blue Line is sponsoring a Sketch Card Gallery Exhibit on March 8, 2008 at Comics2Games in Florence, Kentucky. This show is open to all artists. Blue Line will send sketch cards for the artist to do their illustrations and Comics2Games will set up the display for the event. The Exhibit will be up all day with a get-together with some of the artists from 5 to 8pm that evening. Then, after the show, the cards will be auctioned on eBay with the proceeds donated to the American Cancer Society.

LOTR Masterpieces II

Hey I finally finished the cards!!! wooo!!!

I worked on the Lord of the Rings Masterpieces II set for TOPPS. I did 359 cards in total...here are a few pages of my cards..All are pencil, pen, markers...on the card

This is my first set of official sketch cards... It was AWESOME getting to work on these - although next time I will ask for fewer cards cause i wanted to color them all but only got to like 70% of them..The first page that has '6 back' - are the ones I get returned to me..I sold 2 of them to collectors already! sweeeeet!
